THE GREAT TRIBULATION-THE MEETING PLACE

The Book of Revelations is written by Apostle John the brother of James, Matthew 4:21, 27:56. He recognised Jesus at the Sea of Galilee John 21:7. He was the longest living disciple and he was the only one who died of old age. The Book is about the Great Tribulation which happens during the seven years of a treaty that has at its centre, the Temple Mount.

The Temple was David's desire to be able to commune with God in His own permanent home. By 957BC King Solomon fulfilled David's plan.  God told David he could not do it because he was a man of war. There is a principal set in this. There has to be a division in the roles by those set aside to further God's work. This is why the ones who preach the gospel, evangelise, do missionary work, and witnesses in the future will be persecuted. The sword will be at odds with the spiritual work to be done.

This will be reflected in the end times as well. There will be two beasts. One that serves the spiritual and the other serves the physical. The Temple or King Solomon's Temple was destroyed by the Babylonians in 586BC. But by 516BC it was rebuilt and dedicated. In 167BC the altar in the Temple was defiled by a Greek ruler with a pig sacrifice. In 165BC it was recaptured, cleansed and rededicated. It was destroyed by the Romans in 70CE. It could only be for thanksgiving.

You are probably wondering why the fuss for the Temple in Jerusalem. The most fought for piece of real estate in the world. The many wars fought over Jerusalem is really over the Temple Mount. The most holy temple for the Jews. The symbolism of Jerusalem is about rulership as many of the leaders of Judaism lived in Jerusalem. Often when Jesus rebuked Jerusalem He referred to these leaders the Pharisees and Sadducees. This was discussed in a previous blog.

Many of the nations fighting over Israel have ancient roots. From thousands of years ago, wars were fought to establish the prowess or power of the God over the people. Unfortunately, I believe it is this reason the wars continue to this day. Here I want to explain the how Temple Mount relates to the Great Tribulation:

  • the Tent meeting
  • Sacrificing
  • stumbling block

TENT MEETING

As Christians we know our body is temporary. We know that The Holy Spirit dwells within us. Our body is a holy temple for God. Because it is a temporary structure it is referred to as a tent sometimes. But this referral has a deep seated meaning.

It is about a meeting. Jerusalem is the meeting place with God. It was prophesied that:

  • the Jews will survive
  • They will return as a nation- 1948
  • that they will return to Jerusalem- 1967
  • Jews return to Yeshua- happening still

For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without seraphim: afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days. Hosea 3: 4-5

The last appointed meeting which is still to happen is the next prophesy to be fulfilled. The spiritual return is supposed to be fulfilled through the return of the sacrifices but it will not work. The re-building of the Temple will be a prophesy fulfilled but God will not be in that temple. Our meeting place is when we rapture.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

In the day when all the nations gather the Jews will look on Him and mourn. They missed the meeting. This would be part of the message that the two witnesses would bring to the Jews. However, only when the witnesses are resurrected and then raptured will some of the Jews understand.

The Christians are the spiritual Jews and the continuation of the Messianic Judaism. We do not need a temple. The judgement of God occurs by the altar of sacrifice which is in the temple. When the devil stops the sacrifices in the end times during the treaty, he walks into the temple and claims he is God. This shows the significance of the temple even to him.

We are told that there will be signs in the heaven marking the times. I love to look out for the eclipses and the blood moons and falling stars. Don’t you? But it has led to some confusion and distraction. In consideration of the trumpets, the feasts and the blood moons it is important to ground everything as being related to Israel.

It is to the Jews first and the rest of the world is impacted. They are all signs specifically significant to the Jews. More than for the Christians. The reason for this is because in end of times the Christians are not on the earth for these events.

The feasts are associated with the timings during the year for the Jews. They have practical, spiritual, and historical value. Leviticus 23 tells me that all the feasts will be fulfilled in Israel. Four of the feasts have been fulfilled in Jerusalem already:

  • Passover
  • Feast of unleavened bread
  • Feast of First fruits
  • Feast of Pentecost

There are three more feasts to be fulfilled:

  • Feast of trumpets will be fulfilled in the Second Coming of Christ
  • Yom Kippur is when the Jews will cry and repent
  • Feast of the Tabernacle will be realised when Yom Kippur occurs

During the Great Tribulation there will be specific trumpets sounded. I want to share with you that in 2019, I awakened by the sound of a trumpet being blown in my home by an angel. He blew two times. It was a precious moment. He came to warn me that there was a very wicked plan being made against me. When I read about the trumpets I am especially mindful of; Revelation 8:7, 9:21, 11:15-19.

There have been blood moons before but five are to happen during the Great Tribulation. They will not occur until after the rapture. All the signs are marking specific events in the history of the Jew and now culminate with the unfolding of the end of times.

SACRIFICING

It is hard to believe that in these modern times, nothing has really changed. Without the Temple the priests had no place to work, to sacrifice and no place for worship.  The Sinai Covenant was based on sacrificial work to be done only by the priests and in one place which is the Temple in Jerusalem. Without the Jerusalem Temple they can only offer thanksgiving.

Since the Temple was destroyed and they were unable to keep God's commandments of sacrifices the Jews all knew there would be a new message or teaching or word to continue with. This is why Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth and the life’. He told them He is the right way, the true way and they can have abundant or eternal life with Him.

Jesus paid the ultimate price for our sins. He gave His life as a sacrifice to God The Father. God accepted it as perfect without sin or stain. Jesus came in time to give show them the way for when the Temple would be destroyed. He did tell them it would be. But the Rabbinical Jews (most of them) did not accept Jesus as the Saviour or Messiah. At that time the Jews were:

  • expecting a military leader to take them out of Roman rule
  • expecting a prophet like Elijah as they knew the prophecy for him to return
  • expected a king of splendour and riches

They did not expect that the carpenter's son could be the king they were praying for. They certainly did not think He could be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords either. The Messianic Jews believed and they understood what God was saying to them. Although the Rabbinical Jews knew so much about the laws they did not want to believe that the prophecies were coming to pass in Jesus.

Had they simply checked the timing as revealed in Daniel they would have seen the prophecy fulfilled to the day. Let us take a look at Daniel 9.

7+62 = 69 weeks, to represent 69 years

360 days is a Biblical year

7x69x360 = 173,880 days

You can start counting from the moment the command to rebuild Jerusalem was given to Nehemiah in the Book of Nehemiah chapter 2, you will get April 6, 32AD. This is the date Jesus walked into Jerusalem. This is why some of the Rabbinical Jews did believe but others would not.

Some scholars mark the era of the Gentiles from the day Nehemiah got the decree to rebuild the Temple. To keep it simple though other scholars simply say it is from the time of Christ. I have to point out here that all the prophesies about the Messiah were fulfilled in Jesus. One of the reasons why the testimony is the spirit of prophecy.

Without Jesus or rather without a Messiah they still needed to perform sacrifices. The Messianic Jews and Gentiles believe Jesus is the atonement. Rabbinical Jews believed that a man who was versed in the law could forgive sin. This was another rejection for God. In the past the Jews had told God they wanted a king or ruler over them. Here they were with the King of Kings and they still rejected Him. This was a double whammy for sure!

In the end times which is what we are currently facing, the pre-tribulation would end with a peace treaty of seven years. The terms of the treaty will allow Israel to continue the sacrifices on the Temple Mount. This could mean one of two things, either the Al Aqsa Mosque is destroyed possibly in the pre-tribulation war or that Israel is wronged and has to be appeased in some way.

According to the Book of Revelations the treaty will be broken and the sacrifices stopped 1260 days after signing. The temple that they build will be a false temple and there will be a false peace.

STUMBLING BLOCK

Such violence and trouble over the Temple. This is why we have to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, Psalm 122:6. To this day there is a fight over the Temple and it has not been rebuilt. The Muslims captured the city in 700AD but the Jews were hardly there to defend it. They were in exile by the Romans at the time.

Knowing the importance of the Temple to the Jews, knowing that the Jews will return one day they built the Al Aqsa Mosque on top of it. Given the recent history around Jerusalem in particular, I am convinced they are fighting for Jerusalem to keep the Jews from re-building the Temple.

The Mosque is supposed to be the third largest and reverenced for Arabs and Muslims yet the May 2021 war with Israel saw it being used as a prop to spread false media about Israel. The holy was taken out of it with the staging of lies on two occasions:

  • when they filled the mosque with stones and pieces of wood to throw at the Israeli police after throwing stones at the Jews outside
  • When they burnt a tree near the mosque and spread a rumour that the Jews set the mosque on fire

Many nations find themselves having to take sides. Usually they are against Israel. This is why Jerusalem is the stumbling block. For Christians in particular it is a challenge. The fake news and propaganda spread globally in the mainstream media and social media sites make it particularly hard to show support for Israel.

The Jews are in the same situation once again. They need the Temple Mount to perform the sacrifices for atonement. It is my belief that when the rapture happens the Jews will be reminded of this and the enemies of Israel will think that the God of Israel has abandoned them. This can be another reason why there will be a pre-tribulation war that according to Ezekiel 38 is for ‘plunder’. Or, it can be about the gas find in Israel.

The leadership in Israel is currently weak. It is bound by an agreement with four Arabs who form part of the new government. These Arabs will not allow Israel to defend itself nor do they condemn violence against Jews inside of Israel. This makes it even easier for the Arabs to think they can attack and win in a war against Israel.

Recently, the new Prime Minister of Iran, said that they are waiting for Israel to make a mistake and they will ‘wipe them out’. Such language still continues to this day. It is draconian and demonic language. It is not about a two-state solution as I have previously discussed. It is about proving whose God is badder and wiping out the entire religion. There has been wars and rumours of war over Israel.

When Nehemiah went to rebuild Jerusalem by decree of King Artaxerxes there were those who tried to stop him. Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah, the Ammonite, Geshem, the Arabian are from the same nations that oppose Israel today. They tried to discourage Nehemiah who was only as tall as a man’s knee. They tried to cause confusion for him. As Nehemiah responded, …ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem, Nehemiah 2:20.

The Great Tribulation is a covenant between Israel and God. It is not for the church. We did not go through the 69 weeks nor do we owe God another week or 7 days equivalent to 7 years.

I pray for a precious anointing of The Holy Spirit on you in Jesus name. I pray He teaches you more and more and reveals His truths to you in Jesus name.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I ask you to forgive my sins in knowledge or ignorance. Please forgive me. I accept Jesus as my Saviour. I ask that Jesus comes into my life as I live to be a witness for Him. Please change my life and make me into the person you want me to be. Guide me in these times so I can be used by you to help others in Jesus name I pray. Thank you.

Thank you Behold Israel

THE GREAT TRIBULATION PART 4-THE TWO WITNESSES

Have you ever heard of the two witnesses? They are intriguing to many people because their identities are hidden. This is a popular topic in end of time messages. During the Great Tribulation, they are sent in response to the need for witnesses before the final judgement. They have to bring the message of Christ and let the people know what will happen.

They will come at a time when there is a false peace in Israel and a false temple is set up. Many people will be firm on their refusal to accept Christ as the Messiah. God will send delusion to those who will continuously reject Him, 2 Thessalonians 2.

Join me as I take a mirco lens of these two individuals:

  • Why are the names hidden?
  • Who is it most likely to be?
  • Revival

WHY HIDE THEIR NAMES?

I have three suggestions to answer this question. The two witnesses are two prophets who have already walked on the earth. They will be sent to fulfil a mission. The anointed ones and the two witnesses are the same. You can read about them in Revelations 11. Compare to:

Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by The Lord of the whole earth. Zechariah 4:14

In Israel, the prophets were expected to return. The tradition of Judaism has always been to expect two of the prophets to return. It was part of the conversation in Israel. My first suggestion is based on this. God wanted to keep the people from worshipping the prophets. Prophets were moved by The Holy Spirit, they did not function on their own except when they disobeyed God. It is not by might, not by power but by the Spirit of God. The people would be tempted to focus on the messengers and not the message.

My second suggestion is that when they return to the earth, people will not know who they are. The people will not care to know who they are. In fact, when they start to speak out, the people and the leaders will try to kill them or harm them. They are given supernatural power to protect themselves. They can call down judgement as they see needed.

We who love The Lord are bothered to try to figure out who they are. But it will not matter at that point in time. They will be called heretics, fanatics, Jesus lovers and more. What I am curious about is that the devil also hides their identity.

The third suggestion which is popular, is that the focus in Israel was on the prophets and not on the Messiah. Prophets and prophecies were a huge part of their lives. More than any other people Jews lived in the prophetic. They understood that the prophecies and the laws that guided them were up until John the Baptist.

They could not figure out what was to happen next, although it was prophesied by the prophets. When Jesus came the people assumed He was a prophet, John 6:14. Even John the Baptist sent to ask Jesus Matthew 11:14. God wanted the people to be able to focus more on the Messiah and not on the prophets. Many of the Jews still missed the opportunity to know the Messiah. But many who understood, like the Messianic Jews and some Rabbinical Jews did get to know him.

WHO IS IT MOST LIKELY TO BE?

There will be no restrainer on the earth except whom God sends. Christians are the only people who have the in-dwelling of The Holy Spirit. When we pray we restrain the devil and his plans and his demons. When we bind on earth, we bind in heaven, and when we loose on earth, we loose in heaven. But when we are raptured into heaven, The Restrainer who is The Holy Spirit, will go with us. When the hour of trial begins the two witnesses will be sent to preach

Prophet Elijah seems to be everyone’s first choice. But who would be the next witness? Some say Moses and some say Enoch. Let us try to reason it out together:

Enoch. Enoch walked with God for 365 years. For those of us who enjoy these kinds of coincidences and working with numbers we would note that 365 days make up a calendar year. Even more curious is that the Jews follow the lunar calendar which is 360 days. Enoch is a candidate in the running because Enoch did not see corruption. He did not die, Genesis 5:21-24.

Moses. There are a number of reasons why I would think Moses is one of the witnesses:

  • When Moses died, his body was hidden by God. I find that so sweet. If a loved one dies, you bury them and you care for the burial site. Moses who saw God and communed with Him, was buried by Him. For me this is like a love that was both ways.
  • The devil fought Michael the archangel for Moses’s body, Jude 1:9 That was really bold faced don’t you think?
  • Moses did mighty works for God in Egypt, compare Exodus 7 to Revelations 11:8
  • Moses was called a prophet and he knew God face to face Deuteronomy 34:10.
  • Moses brought the laws to the people.
  • As a witness, Moses will be a very credible candidate. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Hebrew 10:28.

Elijah. Many scholars support the assumption that Elijah will return;

  • The tradition in Judaism is that Elijah will come again.
  • Elijah was a man of God.
  • He performed works that will happen in the Great Tribulation. He has called fire down from heaven. 2 Kings 1: 10-12.
  • Elijah caused the rains to stop 1 Kings17:1.
  • In 1 Kings 18 the tension and the opposition between Ahab and Elijah is like a dress rehearsal for when the witnesses go into Jerusalem and carry the same message in the Great Tribulation period.
  • The face off or the show down between the prophets of baal with Elijah will look similar to those who oppose the two witnesses. Malachi 4:5
  • Elijah was raptured or taken up. Incidentally, I must point out that when Elisha saw his beloved teacher taken up, he felt left behind, 2 Kings 2:11-12 hahaha. Don’t you think this is a curiousity?

There is a strong case for Elijah and Moses I think. The Jewish tradition expected Moses and Elijah, John 1:21. They even mistook John for Elijah but John came in the spirit of Elijah Luke 1:17, Matthew 17:10-13.

These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. Revelations 11:6

Moses and Elijah represented the law and appeared at the transfiguration of Jesus, Matthew 17:1-7. The transfiguration is a forerunner to the Second Coming. Both left in unusual ways. Here is my suggestion as one of the witnesses:

John the Revelator. John was already on the island of Patmos at this time. This has not happened as yet:

And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. Revelations 10:11

REVIVAL

They will preach for 1260 days. That means that from the day of the signing of the treaty they will appear on the earth. The principle of to the Jews first then the Gentiles is very evident. The message they bring is for the Jew. They will say that the temple is false and the sacrifice does not have repentant heart.

Their mission in the past and in the future are so important that they are anointed in a special way. They are connected to the lamps in Revelation 1. They will trigger revival by this anointing. The pipes are used for the oil to pour out. Zechariah 4:1-14 adds to Revelation 11.

In Revelations 11:7-10, the beast will make war against them, and will kill them. The people will celebrate thinking they won. They will leave the bodies in the streets and for 3 ½ days and send each other gifts. They did not even want them to be buried, such is the hate the people will have for them. They did not understand that the warnings of the two witnesses were to save them from eternity in hell.

After the 3 ½ days the witnesses are resurrected and they are raptured. The impact of this brings thousands to repentance. The days are representative of the 1260 days or 3 ½ years marking the half of the seven-year period. But more importantly is what happens when the people witness what happens next:

And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them. And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. Revelations 11:12-13

When the Jews witness the resurrection and rapture of the witnesses, and hear the voice from heaven then they will realise that they made a mistake. The Feast of the Tabernacle will make sense. They have been so focused on the sacrifices they did not listen to Isaiah 1:1-18. This is why it all happens in Jerusalem.

They thought they could continue the sacrifices and God will be pleased. They missed the message of Jesus. I am suggesting that when the rapture takes place they assume that they continue the sacrifices and it will be well with them. The two witnesses would come to warn them:

  • Jesus is the atonement
  • Law and sacrifices cannot atone

Judgement happens by the altar. But that altar is false, no longer serving a purpose. I have to stress that the Great Tribulation is for the Jews who refuse Jesus as Messiah not all of them. It would be for the non-Jews who called themselves godly, religious or Christians but did not have Jesus’s Lordship over their lives.

I pray The Holy Spirit teaches and comforts you in these days of troubles. I pray God’s provision and protection over you in Jesus name.

THE WITNESSES PART 3 - 144,000

The Great Tribulation is not only a punishment but it is God's mercy to give a last chance to mankind to turn away from sin. In the absence of the law there cannot be sin to judge because everything will be allowed. Complete lawlessness. We see this today. It has started. The devil is already changing the laws. There needs to be decrees to set standards to live by. This way God can judge.

picture of Zion national park Israel. The sunlight throws a golden light to the jagged edges of the mount and the valley between is green and lush.
Zion National Park where the 144,000
will stand with the Lamb
Revelations chapters 1-3 is where the churches are judged. The church is not spoken of anymore after this. The believers are spoken of after this. The believers will want to know the reason they were left behind. By knowing where they went wrong they are able to understand what they need to fix in themselves.

The two witnesses would have brought a message to the Jews in Jerusalem. There are those who would hear the testimony of Jesus and the prophecy by the two witnesses and would not receive Christ. God said He will send delusion to those who will not want the truth and consistently refuse Jesus , 2 Thessalonians 2:11.

144,000

A revival would appear to come from the Jews. This will happen after the resurrection of the two witnesses. The symbolism of this will break the veil upon the heart of the Jew. They will flee to Jordan. Today preparation is being made for them. God promises this. He will protect them from the devil who chases after them. All this is God's mercy. Who are the witnesses after the two witnesses?

We learn about the 144,000 young men who are pure. They are from the tribes of Israel. Remember it happens to Israel first then the rest of the world.  God will select 12000 from each tribe and He will seal them to Himself. Do not harm the land or sea or trees until we have sealed the foreheads of the servants of our God. Revelations 7:3

The work of the 144,000 is specific. They are servants of God.  They will preach and bring about revival to those left behind. The church will not be there to do it only those left behind. The revival period for the left behind and non-Jews will start with these men of God.

No one will be able to harm them. They are virgins Revelations 14:4 and they will not face the judgement Revelations 7:3. Can you imagine the burden they will bear? Having the consciousness of God and seeing the misery of sin in the lives of the people and the persecution of the ones holding on to Jesus.

The 12 tribes of Israel are a curiosity at this point. Genesis 10 tells us the beginnings of the tribes. In Revelations 7, the tribe of Dan is missing. Some scholars believe that since they were in West of Jerusalem and the northern extremes of Israel which was prone to more attacks, they would have been wiped out. It is in the north that Samson would have fought the Philistines.

However in my research I saw that the tribe of Dan had gone into battle against another nation, with Canaan. There is a possibility that they were absorbed into the Canaanite peoples or wiped out. They are part of the ten tribes who have been lost. Some people believe that they will be found again. In 1604-57 Manasseh Ben Israel used the argument of the ten lost tribes for Jews to be allowed to enter England. This was under Oliver Cromwell.

Jacob had ten sons and he adopted two of Joseph's sons. They were the ones who left Egypt and fought with Joshua for the promised land. Jacob's sons were; Asher, Dan, Gad, Issachar,  Naphtali, Reuben, Simeon, and Zebulun. Joseph's sons were Manasseh, Ephraim, adopted as sons by Jacob.

By Revelations 7 God will appoint from the remaining tribes which are 11 with Levites becoming a tribe of their own. Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph and Benjamin. Benjamin is used for Ephraim.

In Exodus 32 and Deuteronomy 33, the Levites stepped up. God blessed them by setting them apart and exalting them as the priests. However, in Revelations 7 they are counted as equal to the others. The Levites had killed the idolaters among them when Moses came down from Mount Sinai.

You might think that it is murder it is not. At that time cleansing is done with blood sacrifice and the Jews were supposed to be pure. With idolatry they will turn away from God and mix with other peoples.

Without purity, sin would spread on the earth. God knew that the bloodlines had to be pure as they would have to prove through bloodline they have the right of return to Israel. There was both a spiritual and physical repercussion that God did not want. What He did see in the Levites was a willingness to do anything for Him.

Since Moses at no other time has the Tribe of Levi been numbered among the twelve. The interesting fact of the 144,000 is that the records of the geneaology of the tribes were burnt in AD70 by Emperor Titus. Only God knows this and He will prepare them for this time that is soon coming.

Now that the new city would be established and Jesus will take His throne on the earth there would be no need for a Temple. That means the Levites in the role of priests seeking atonement for the people would not be needed. I have not seen a scripture saying that they were beheaded or that they died. I am not convinced of this. The 144,000 are next found standing on Mt Sion with a Lamb.

The chosen ones are pure without fault, that makes me think they did not go through the stench of death. But I speculate here. After the ministry of the chosen 144,000 the decree is made that those who die after this point for the Lord will be blessed. Then the angel comes for harvest with the sickle. The harvest is proof that God makes opportunity throughout the Great Tribulation for people to have eternal life in Christ.

I pray God strengthens you. I pray God causes His light to shine on you in Jesus name.

Thank you.

THE WITNESSES - PART 2

So far, I established that the Great Tribulation is not for the church. I explained the seven year period and I established how it will begin. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He has set up principles in the spiritual to manage the physical. These are specific principles that guide us. There are two principles that make it necessary to have witnesses on the earth during the Great Tribulation. Here I discuss it in relation to this period:

  • the principle of the spiritual order
  • the principle of law
  • the left behind

The two principles of law and spiritual order work together. They will explain how God is merciful to us. I have written on those left behind but here I give more detail and relate it more specifically to the Book of Revelations.

THE PRINCIPLE OF SPIRITUAL ORDER

The principle is that any law from God or to be used by God has to start in the spiritual and then brought to the physical world. I will demonstrate this using:

  • Moses
  • Daniel
  • Jesus

Moses. I think most of us know about the Ten Commandments. He communed with God and God gave him the Ten Commandments. God writes it on the tablets. No other witness was needed because God Himself wrote it. He came through the barrier or heavenly domains and entered the physical with His writing on physical tablets. hahah He wrote it on stone. Could not get more physical than that.

Daniel. In Daniel 9, God sets up the Great Tribulation but Daniel who knew God so well was unaware of some aspects of this time to come. The message had to be brought to him. The Jews did not have a guarantee of eternal life with God by following the laws. A new way was being prophesied to Daniel.

He had to understand it. He had to publish it and promote it to the Jews. Same with Jesus. It was a new way and it was not for Jews only. In the past it was a Jewish religion but now through the Messiah the message would include non-Jews. This is what Daniel is now learning through the angel's message.

Jesus. When Jesus came, He came with a new way, He spoke it and the disciples both lived it and wrote it. Both the physical and the spiritual involved, Ephesians 2:14-18. Jesus brought a message. He came to teach and establish it on the earth. He spoke it into the earthly realm and He walked and lived in it.

He was the example for all to follow. This message could only be given by Jesus. The Messianic Jews were teaching it but Jesus needed to expand on it, demonstrate it, and take it to the Gentiles. The disciples were the witnesses who would publish it.

Through these three examples I can safely say that witnesses will be needed on the earth to bring the message of Christ and to prophecy of what is happening. They will bring it from the heavens, the spiritual realm to the earth the physical realm. The Great Tribulation refers to the earth.

THE PRINCIPLE OF LAW

picture of a judge's gavel with a slight spotlight on it.
Laws have been a part of us through the ages. To establish a rule or a law, it has to be decreed and published. It has to be promoted. There must be two witnesses or more. It is an extension of the spiritual order. Sin brings death. God warns us of this many times. Now that God has removed the church in His mercy to the Jews and the non-believers He gives a final opportunity during the seven years to turn away from sin.

But to judge them He has to provide witnesses according to the principle of law He set up before.

Whoever is deserving of death shall be put to death on the testimony of two or three witnesses; he shall not be put to death on the testimony of one witness. Deuteronomy 17:6

“One witness shall not rise against a man concerning any iniquity or any sin that he commits; by the mouth of two or three witnesses the matter shall be established. Deuteronomy:15

But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ Matthew 18:16

Witnesses are needed to establish how they will be judged, by whom, and why.

THE LEFT BEHIND

Often times I have written about how time works in the Bible. I can see this in Revelations. When John speaks he introduces something but gives details later on. I am trying to put it in some order for you. It is a time when things will happen very fast and furious. There will be a need for witnesses because of the two principles discussed earlier. The earth will be filled with lawlessness, anger and hostility. This will have to be judged.

At first it may seem peaceful when the treaty is signed. But as the judgements of God are passed things start to get confusing. I want to point out that when something is specific to the non-Jews the period is checked in months.

If you like you can look at it both ways. The Jewish year is 360 days using a lunar calendar. The rest of the world uses 365 days. Compare Revelations 12:6 with Revelations 13:5. There will be revival during the Great Tribulation. But what a terrible time to live in. There are a number of reasons why it will be difficult for the left behind to accept Jesus during the Great Tribulation.

You will feel the burden for the souls that are being lost. When you see others hunted, beheaded or suffering from food and amenities it will hurt you. You will see people being deceived and unable to understand you. You will find that you cannot trust because they will betray you. You will be anxious for loved ones. These are heavy burdens to bear while you are trying to hide from hunters. It will be easier to be angry than to forgive.

When the world witnesses the rapture they will feel rejected and left behind. They will not want to hear that they had time and opportunity. They will reject you who represents God to them. Even though they know that God can stop the tribulations, they will curse God.

The true Bible will not exist. When the rapture happens, the Bibles will eventually be changed or destroyed. This will facilitate tolerance. One religion that says all gods are the same or there are different ways. No one way or one god will be allowed to be better than the other.

I would recommend very little internet activity at this time. Tolerance of religions will be through a form of godliness, or a one religion. This will be done easily as already in some countries converting someone to Christianity is against the law. This will be the new way all over the world.

Picture of an event that is themed, Giving the middle finger to Christianity.
When people continually reject Christ, God sends delusion. I want to stress that it starts with the lawless one deceiving the world. But the point of sin is when people prefer to believe in the deceptions and not in the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 says:

The coming of the lawless one will be accompanied by the working of Satan, with every kind of power, sign, and false wonder, and with every wicked deception directed against those who are perishing, because they refused the love of the truth that would have saved them. For this reason God will send them a powerful delusion so that they believe the lie, in order that judgment may come upon all who have disbelieved the truth and delighted in wickedness.

During the Great Tribulation, the people will not want to hear about judgement, sin, wrong doing, or truth. Already we can see this.

Then they will deliver you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name. At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another, and many false prophets will arise and mislead many.

Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:9-12

When the judgements are being passed on the earth, the people will get more angry with God. Anyone who believes in Jesus at that time will be persecuted. They will be hated. Jesus and his followers will be punished on the earth. They will blame God for the world being in tribulation. They will accuse God and His heavenly hosts for the woes or the troubles they have to face. Just like the devil, the dragon they will bring accusation.

It upsets God a lot to hear us say that He is not fair or that He is evil, verse 1. He wants us to understand his desire is that all men would have eternal life with Him. Ezekiel 18:32, For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies, says the Lord God. Therefore turn and live! But if this is not what we want, then the other option will lead to death. The opposite of life is death.

When the devil, the dragon brings accusations against the believers, he is barred from heaven, Revelations 12:10. He is angry that the Jews will flee from him. God will stop him from hurting them. He will then become more hateful of the believers.

And the dragon was enraged at the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. Revelations 12:17

Things will get worse when the anti-Christ declares He is God and puts a stop to the sacrificing to God in the Temple of Jerusalem. It will change from all gods being the same to the anti-Christ declaring he is God. If you do not receive the mark to show you identify with him, you will be killed.

Do you understand how hostile it will be? It is truly better to believe in Jesus today. However, by doing what you have to for Jesus you bring judgement to the wicked and you give witness of sin on the earth. I do not know for sure what you have to do to truly show God you choose Him during this time. I can suggest three things:

God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You can win by accepting Jesus as Messiah and by your testimony of choosing to live and die for Christ. If it comes to choosing death when you are threatened for being a believer.

I use the proclamations by the angels as a guide because of the relationship between the physical and the spiritual:

  • read the Book of Revelations out loud, Revelations 1:3
  • learn the true message of Christ and practise it, Revelations 14:6, 19:10
  • know the purpose of the Great Tribulation is to teach us to fear God, Revelations 14:7
  • stay away from the sin in the land; idolatry, worship of the beast or his image, Revelations 14:9-10
  • speak out aloud or prophecy the fall of Babylon, the Second Coming of Christ, Revelations 14:8

I am not saying risk your life or your children's. But if you have opportunity to lead someone to Christ do it. Never deny Jesus is the Messiah! Never curse Israel. However evil will be all over the world.

The world will be filled with so much hate that they will celebrate the death of believers. They will celebrate the death of the two witnesses. The two witnesses will come with to testify of Jesus and to prophecy what will happen.

You can prophecy by following the instructions of reading or speaking out loud what will happen during the seven year period and the fall of Babylon. I think that what the angels do and what the two witnesses do are about the same.

I pray God's mercy on you and your family. I rebuke every hindering spirit set to stop you from fulfilling God's purpose in your life in Jesus name.
