It's been a while since I wrote anything. Things have changed for me yet again. But I believe that I have to keep blogging and there is no better topic to start with, than faith. Like many of you I have been facing trials, slaying giants and cutting down mountains.
Trials come in different levels. Each trial is designed to test us. Trials test our faith. We live in a time where most of humanity is experiencing trials and lesser tribulations. I specify lesser tribulations as many people mix it up with Great Tribulations. However, today we are talking about faith and will not be diverted.
In a casual way we say we 'believe'. But do we really know what it is to believe especially when we are experiencing rough times? We think it is about our belief and that is an understatement. But rather it is about knowing who our God is. Between 2020 and 2022 I had good experiences and bad experiences. During that period, I had to rely on faith. During those years, money became short and there was panic, false teachings in the church, even false information circulated as science. Faith was really tested.
In Romans 8:28 it says, All things works out for a good for them that love the Lord and are called to His purpose. In every trial we must hold on to this scripture and know that our God loves us and will do everything that is right for us. With this understanding we can trust that whatever the situation, He will make a way for us. That is no easy task sometimes.
When things don't make sense to us we have to dig deep to find that faith. First we must accept a few things:
- God is real even though the reality in life looks different
- God loves us and sent His son to die on the cross to take our sins
- the work on the cross is perfect, giving us victory
- God forgives us of sin and will hear our cries, our prayer and see us
- God wants what is best for us, he sees everything
- the ways of man or the world are not more important than the way of God
It all comes with relationship. In every trial we go through, it is your relationship with God that is being tested. Our relationship with God will have it's high and lows as with any other. David kept himself in check because he said in Psalm 42:5,
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
As soon as he felt himself out of joy or alignment with God he would talk to himself, encouraging himself in his relationship. David asked for the 'help of His countenance'.
We must ask ourself, Soul why are you cast down and speak to ourselves aloud. Faith is built in hearing ourself. Romans 10:17 says, So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
This is how we confess and declare the things of God into our lives. Our hope is in the coming of The Lord and this is where we have faith. He will reign on the earth soon. That means our faith builds hope in His reign, His sovereignty, His victory,
The lifter of our soul is The Holy Spirit who dwells within us. We resist the things of the earth that do not uphold the word of God. By giving God the position of authority in our lives we can stand on His promises. One of His promises that is needed today is found in Nehemiah 8:10, the joy of The Lord is my strength.
I pray your soul be strengthened in the joy of The Lord and you have an extra portion of faith as you look with expectation for the coming of Jesus.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I ask you to forgive my sins in knowledge or ignorance. Please forgive me. I accept Jesus as my Saviour. I ask that Jesus comes into my life as I live to be a witness for Him. Please change my life and make me into the person you want me to be. Guide me in these times so I can be used by you to help others in Jesus name I pray. Thank you Father.
