WITCHCRAFT - THE SERPENT SPIRIT PART II

      When I first became a Christian I started having prophetic dreams. Only problem was that I had no one to teach me about these things and some of them I did not understand nor did I know what was required of me. The Holy Spirit is my main teacher to this day. Praise God. It is as it should be.

In one particular dream, I saw myself on a mountain and there were a few other people there. I turned to someone who was next to me and said, let us look at what is happening. We perched ourselves and looked and saw that there was something not very big flying but it could only fly from one spot to another at short distances. It turned out to be snakes. Then I heard a heavenly voice saying, they can fly in the air for a short space but they have to return to their master, it is a seducing spirit. When I looked down I saw the master was a stone sculpture. 

From the features I knew I was in a part of Asia. Sure enough when I woke up I checked and there were flying snakes in South Asia. Learning about this demon took more than thirty years. Recently I started listening to deceased Pastor Derek Prince's messages and I understood it more. In part one of this topic about the demon spirit known as the python spirit and I focused on the seducing aspect of it. In this part I want to focus more on the spirit's attempt to replace Jesus. 

Since it functions as a divining spirit or does sorcery it operates within the spiritual realm. You might think well it is a spirit. You are right. But this demon is different in some ways. It uses authority that is given to it. In modern times, people can authorise the demon to speak into their lives when they consult zodiacs, fortune tellers and mediums. They operate in the supernatural and we give them right of passage to make pronouncements on us. In other words prophesy into our lives. These are actually a form of false prophecies. 

When God chastises the false prophets it is clear that they give a false situation made up of flattering words. The purpose is to manipulate and establish dominance in a victim's life. We surrender our dominion over ourselves or Jesus's Lordship over us by allowing him, the devil, to give us another plan. It is often sprinkled with truth but used to gain access and trust. Similarly the slave girl in Acts 16. She tried to gain access to the men of God and the church, by giving a truth. 

One thing I know about the devil is that he is always trying to mimic Jesus. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to The Father but by Him. The devil is twisting this spiritual dynamic by replacing Jesus. He gives you truth, he gives you a different way, his plan for you, and deceives you into thinking that this is your life. 

Bear with me as I explain this. I have to point to Revelation 19:10b as my key scripture, '...For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.'  To be a counter to Jesus or to corrupt the plan and order God sets for us, the devil sets his own plan. As he did with Adam and Eve. He uses his version of prophecy to seduce us or manipulate and deceive us. Tells us what he thinks we want to hear. The end result is to enslave us to his dominion over us. The concept of 'force' has been explained in part one of this message. It is force because it is manipulation.

Using the same iconography of the snake, I can trace where the devil is trying to replace Jesus. Often times we see the medical symbol with a serpent on a cross or a stake. This originated from the time of Moses. God punished the children of Israel by sending fiery snakes to bite them. Moses entreated God and God told him to make an image of a snake and place it on a pole. As the people focused on the image they would not die from the bites (Numbers 21:4-9).

By II Kings 18:4 which is written about 500 - 600 years later the people are worshipping the serpent for healing! They even give it a name 'Nehushtan', attesting to the form of the snake and the metal used to make it. This is how the devil uses the serpent to replace Jesus. The serpent on the pole was to represent Jesus on the cross. 

There are many scriptures in the Old Testament about God's healing power yet the people were fooled into believing the snake could heal them. This is idolatry as well. The prophetic dream I had was very accurate it turns out. Given the current medical emergency facing the world I will not venture into the obvious topic we hear about night and day. But I will quote Isaiah 53:5,

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes, we are healed.

 

I should point out that the serpent will always be in opposition to mankind. Eve was told that her heel will bruise the head of the serpent. There will be opportunity through Jesus to take back dominion and authority. 

The serpent spirit can operate in the supernatural which is the air. It has to return to its master, idolatry. It is a seducing spirit. Praise God for these revelations. King Hezekiah not only broke up the idol he ground it into dust and scattered it. Yet, the symbol is found in parts of the Middle East and even in our medical field. That is definitely another blog for another day. 

Let us take example from King Hezekiah and ground up every aspect of the demon and it's influence in our lives. 

Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die...For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 18:31-32 

Please pray this prayer: 

Father I come before you humbled and renouncing every form of witchcraft and rebelliousness in my life today. Devil you have no place with me and I plead the blood of Jesus against you in the name of Jesus. 

If you don't have Jesus as your Lord and Saviour you should pray the following prayer.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I ask you to forgive my sins in knowledge or ignorance. Please forgive me. I accept Jesus as my Saviour. I ask that Jesus comes into my life as I live to be a witness for Him. Please change my life and make me into the person you want me to be. Guide me in these times so I can be used by you to help others in Jesus name I pray. Thank you.

  

WITCHCRAFT - THE SERPENT SPIRIT PT 1

    God never stops teaching us and lifting us up. One particular lesson took about thirty years for me to learn and I think there is even more still to learn. Recently I listened to Pastor Marcus Rogers speak about the first time he encountered a python spirit and he didn't know such a thing existed. But he was able to pull it out of a woman. Thank God he had faith and was obedient.

Coincidentally or by God's design 😉 I started listening to deceased Pastor Derek Prince's messages around the same time Pastor Rogers had his encounter. About fifteen years earlier I read about an Indian folklore about the serpent spirit. I wondered if this could be the same. Then I remembered a dream I once had another fifteen years prior to that concerning the same spirit. There seemed to be two strong characteristics about this demon that can be traced back to the Bible. 

I think it is important to recognise and to renounce it. The impact of this demon seems to be on two levels. The ground level and the atmosphere level. Perhaps this is why God has been taking the time to teach me about it. Here I will focus on the demon as a manipulator or seducing spirit. In part two I will focus on the anti-Christ nature of it.

The Indian story is about a woman who would marry a man. For ten years they would stay married but after this time the man would wake up and look at the woman and wonder who she was. Now don't be fooled there is a lot more to this demon than you think. From this I understand that it can cast spells and over a lengthy period of time, enough to change a person's life completely. 

It is sometimes called the python spirit. It has been part of the plot for the fall of man even from the days of Adam and Eve. Yes that's right. It was a serpent that appeared to Eve and enticed her with flattering words. It tempted her to break the order of God by imagining herself to be like God. The result was life changing for both of them and for mankind. 

Scholars have speculated about the sexuality of Eve and have suggested Eve had sex with the serpent. Eww! Gross! However, the scope of this blog will not include this topic as it will not take anyone to heaven nor will it teach about Jesus. Back to our main topic the python demon. 

While this demon preys on our sexual urges it is really a seducing spirit. In Proverbs and elsewhere we will read about the harlot. Proverbs 7:21, 'With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.' Proverbs 7:26b, '...many strong men have been slain by her'. 

It is the false state that tempts Eve and then Adam. It is to pull down the man, using Eve, access was given to Adam. This demon usually uses women and usually uses manipulation or intimidation 'forced' to slay the 'strong men'. Adam being the means by which mankind lost dominion by giving into the temptation. 

I want to add that the false state or promises comes through lying lips of false prophets just the same. The diving spirit, fortune telling, and sorcery are all witchcraft (Galatians 5:20). Not forgetting the false prophets. Often God condemns false prophets. From my understanding false prophets serve the same purpose and are rooted in lies and manipulations to serve the will of the devil. They function in the same way as the seducing spirit.

They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The Lord saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. Ezekiel 13:6 

In Acts 16, there is the account of the slave woman who did fortune telling or divining for money. This example shows us how powerful the demon is and how manipulative and deceptive. A spirit was put in the slave girl, she was 'forced', she was used to bring money to her masters not herself. This is the devil's trademark, domination, enslavement, and force. God gives us choice, truth and life. 

When the demon saw Paul and Silas, the strong men of God, the demon tried to convince them that she had a revelation from God and was therefore, like them. For days! Acts 16: 17b, '...These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.' Paul saw right through the tactic being used. He did not get weary or weakened.

According to Pastor Prince, had it been in a more modern setting they may have fell for it and allowed her to be a leader in the church. Thank God it was not. Now the entire city was indeed in an uproar. The legal system was used to punish Paul and Silas. It seems that this demon has friends as it can manipulate within the realm of economics and law. It is violent if it does not get its own way as Paul and Silas were beaten. According to Pastor Prince it can use men and when it does, it is very violent in dealing with it. 

Witchcraft exists where there is rebellion. Rebellion is in defying God's order or God's will. I have learnt that rebellion is found when the order of God is being changed or defied. In fact the meaning of 'satan' in the Hebrew means 'to act as an adversary' or 'to oppose'. Additionally, Pastor Prince associates divining to the same demon that abuses or murders children. That would be the demon that Jezebel served. 

Changing the natural order of procreation and family structure has long been an obsession of the devil. It is common knowledge that in some cultures, fertility is believed to be a result of snake worship or some sort of ritual or potion involving snakes. The irony is that the devil wants children to be sacrificed. A practise that can be found to this day in satanic worship and even in abortion. Abortion is today a money making industry and in some nations legalised. 

As you can see this demon has been around for a very long time and is cunning and able to use our own systems against us on a national or community level and an individual level. 

That is quite a lot to digest so I will stop here. I hope you take time to read part two of this blog. Please pray this prayer: I renounce any demonic activity I took part in knowingly or unknowingly. I command any demonic spirit in my life to go in Jesus name.
